Context

what has been and where we want to go

Current State of Existing App

The existing MSNBC app is part of a family of apps that is based on one template and applied to a specific brand and focuses primarily on live TV and episodes

Shift Focus to Editorially-Driven Content

With this opportunity to update the app, it was decided that instead of the primary focus being live TV initially, we would focus on editorially-driven content as a way to bring MSNBC articles to the forefront and be able to much better curate the experience

Goal

Launch the new MSNBC app as soon as possible

Use as much existing infrastructure as possible to quickly get the new app into users' hands

Use the NBC News App as the Foundation

Our editorially-driven NBC News app has already been available for many years

Being that NBC News is a mature app with many features that would be beneficial for MSNBC, we can white label the NBC News app to use as a foundation and apply MSNBC data and branding to it
